Our chapter holds two philanthropy events per year to benefit our national philanthropy, CASA, as well as the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation and The Friendship Fund. The proceeds of our fundraising events are donated directly to these organizations. Last year, we raised $7,500! Learn more about our philanthropy events below, and be sure to visit our pages about the benefitting organizations to learn more about why they are so important to us!

Theta Dodgeball
For our fall philanthropy event, teams of 6-10 students compete in a dodgeball tournament to raise money for CASA! The highly-anticipated event draws students, other Greeks, and members of many different organizations from all over campus. The sisters of Beta Lambda coach the teams and work to make the tournament fun from start to finish! The participation of hundreds of students playing for a great cause is Theta's celebration of CASA and our fall philanthropy at William & Mary!
Dunk A Theta
This is Theta's new Spring philanthropy as of 2016! It involves lots of Dunkin' Donuts, volunteer sisters being dunked into a dunk tank by attendees, and fun for all! Our chapter also reaches out to our community and student body at this event by having Colonial CASA representatives attend. They discuss their efforts to help the youth and young adult population in Williamsburg and spread the word about CASA while everyone enjoys some tasty treats!
OTHER GREEK SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
We regularly participate in philanthropies organized by other Greek chapters on campus, to show our support. These include, Kappa Delta Campus Golf, Delta Phi Croquet, Sigma Chi Derby Days, and Sigma Pi Nerf Superbowl.

Thetas also take part in activities sponsoring the W&M Greek Philanthropy, ARC of greater Williamsburg. ARC provides support to persons with intellectual and developmental challenges, as well as their families. For more information on ARC visit www.thearcgw.org.

AN EMPHASIS ON SERVICE
Our chapter requires that each member complete at least five service hours per semester. Each of our sisters takes this to heart and meets or exceeds this minimum in addition to participating in Theta-hosted philanthropic activities. Thetas love giving back to the community and we are constantly looking for more creative ways to raise funds for CASA, The Theta Foundation, and The Friendship Fund. Service is a big component of chapter life at Kappa Alpha Theta and we like to have fun while we help out! We have recently founded our Social Engagement Committee as an opportunity for members to discuss different social issues in a nonpartisan way. Additionally, the group gets to see how these issues manifest first hand in the community by volunteering at different organizations in Williamsburg. Social Engagement Committee works with groups such as Campus Kitchens, HeadStart Preschool, and Williamsburg retirement homes to help keep our members engaged in the community!
